Cyber Sense

The first session of Cyber Sense, conducted on 5th July 2025, offered a powerful and thought-provoking start. The session began with an engaging icebreaker where learners shared personal digital challenges, which naturally led into deeper conversations about the insight–cause–and–effect chain in online behaviors.

What truly stood out was how the speaker skillfully connected contemporary political situations, ongoing wars, and global unrest to the realities of the cyber world. Learners explored how modern conflicts are no longer limited to physical battlegrounds but have expanded into digital domains—where data, misinformation, and technological control are the new weapons. The geopolitical significance of semiconductors was highlighted as a vivid example of how power today is intricately tied to digital infrastructure.

The discussion also delved into the role of podcasters and influencers in directing thought, values, and behaviors was examined, raising important questions about online influence and identity.

Other pressing issues such as substance abuse, the normalization of abusive language, and the culture of online flexing were unpacked, encouraging learners to critically reflect on what they consume and emulate online.

The session concluded with a dynamic Q&A, leaving learners more aware, reflective, and eager for the next installment.
